Mike Briggs is the Director of Information Technology Operations for the George Washington School of Law. The Law School is the technical benchmark for its peers. Mr. Briggs has been at the Law School for 16 years – beginning with transitioning the school from typewriter to desktop through recently designing and implementing the first departmental wireless network on GWU campus. He is a member of numerous university committees focused on information security, information technology, etc. He has been a speaker at various conferences and alumni presentations. Mr. Briggs graduated from the University of Florida.

RSA Security deployed Mirapoint’s RazorGate 450 email security appliances to secure and protect more than 1,200 users on their existing Microsoft Exchange server. The RazorGate appliances provide a multi-layered approach to protect against hackers, viruses, spam, and other threats. This complete approach includes advanced management of message traffic through Mirapoint’s MailHurdle™ technology, policy enforcement tools, SMTP connection management, content filters, as well as detailed logging and reporting. The RazorGate 450, formerly branded as the Mirapoint Message Director MD450, is the flagship product in Mirapoint's complete family of email security appliances, which also includes the RazorGate 100 and RazorGate 300 appliances.
Prior to purchasing the RazorGate appliances, RSA Security utilized anti-virus software running on a general-purpose server platform located at the edge of their network. RSA Security quickly realized that a better all-encompassing security solution was needed to address spam, viruses, SMTP port security, and other emerging threats related to incoming and outgoing traffic. Additionally, the new solution had to be fully interoperable with RSA Security’s existing Exchange email servers. RSA Security evaluated a number of solutions but ultimately found Mirapoint’s RazorGate appliances offered a more industrial-strength solution to meet their complete email security requirements.
