Industry Standards & Organizations

Mirapoint has been a key participant in defining the standards and technology direction in the secure messaging market. Mirapoint is an active member of The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), an international community of network designers, operators, vendors, and researchers concerned with the evolution of the Internet architecture and the smooth operation of the Internet; and The Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation (SPEC), an organization that establishes, maintains and endorses a standardized set of relevant benchmarks that can be applied to the newest generation of high-performance computers. All Mirapoint products and services are built on industry standards and protocols including Post Office Protocol (POP), Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP), HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP), Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) and Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP); Mirapoint’s messaging products are also compatible with almost any commonly-used email client. By leveraging these standards, Mirapoint customers enjoy interoperability with just about any other vendor’s hardware and applications, obviating the need to “rip out and replace” legacy equipment. Our involvement in industry standards groups benefits our customers by cementing our leadership position with the development of new standards and technologies.
